Ramen Bar
Located at Yas Plaza Marina by IHG, Ramen Bar brings the warmth, craftsmanship and convivial spirit of Japanese dining to Yas Island. Relaxed yet refined, the restaurant is designed around the simple pleasure of settling in over a comforting bowl, sharing plates and drinks, and allowing dinner to unfold at its own pace.
At the heart of Ramen Bar is a devotion to craft. Noodles are made in-house, while the broths are slowly cooked for 12 hours, allowing time to build richness, depth and layers of flavour. Japanese ingredients are complemented by fresh local produce and locally sourced chicken, bringing together Japanese culinary inspiration with ingredients selected closer to home.
The signature Shoyu Beef Ramen pairs the restaurant’s slow-crafted broth with shaved Wagyu beef, while the Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen delivers a richer, warming expression of the menu. Alongside the bowls, guests can explore freshly prepared sushi rolls, Wagyu Beef Gyoza, Karaage and Japanese-inspired small plates, with mochi ice cream made in Japan offering a fittingly playful finish.
The experience extends well beyond the bowl. Ramen Bar’s drinks selection celebrates Japan through sake, shochu and Japanese beers, alongside signature drinks created for relaxed evenings and long dinners. Traditional komodaru sake barrels, historically used to transport sake and now closely associated with Japanese sake culture, add another layer of character to the restaurant’s visual storytelling.
That sense of Japan continues throughout the space. Samurai figures, koi, cherry blossoms and dramatic interpretations of Japanese waves appear throughout the restaurant, while suspended parasols, paper lanterns, decorative fans and contemporary neon ramen artwork create a playful dialogue between traditional and modern Japan. Warm timber, soft lighting and shoji-inspired partitions soften the
atmosphere, while cosy semi-private booths framed by geometric latticework create intimate pockets for couples, families and small groups.
At the centre of the experience is Chef Shendi, an Indonesian chef whose time and experience in Japan have helped shape his understanding of its cuisine and techniques. Together with a team of three chefs, and supported by a host and captain on the floor, the team brings a personal, welcoming character to the restaurant, keeping the experience approachable even as the food remains grounded in careful preparation and craftsmanship.
Ramen Bar is a celebration of Japanese comfort and craft: house-made noodles, patiently prepared broths, sushi and dishes made for sharing, sake poured at the table and spaces designed to linger in. Japan, crafted on Yas Island.
