Our Story
Amara was born out of a shared dream between two longtime friends and seasoned professionals:
Hazem and Danny. Hazem, a successful lawyer with a deep love for culinary experiences, had already made his mark in the restaurant world, owning famous concepts that blend authenticity with innovation. Danny, a chef by trade, had built his name through the kitchen creating and operating renowned Lebanese and European restaurants over the years. Their friendship was rooted in countless meals, meaningful conversations, and a shared desire to elevate the Lebanese dining experience in the capital. Together, they envisioned something more than a restaurant, “a destination”. A place that pays homage to the roots of Lebanese cuisine while embracing a refined, modern edge. That vision became Amara. The name Amara is a tribute to the very famous song Amara Ya Amara by Fairuz. A nostalgic nod to Lebanese culture, music, and soul, the name represents light, warmth, and elegance, all the things you’ll feel the moment you walk through Amara’s doors. Set in the heart of Yas Island, the most iconic island of Abu Dhabi, Amara is a contemporary Lebanese restaurant that blends soulful recipes, a chic atmosphere, and the kind of hospitality only two passionate minds could create.
